ℹ️ Syncerus caffer, commonly known as the African buffalo or Cape buffalo, is a large bovine species native to sub-Saharan Africa. They are known for their imposing size and robust build, with males weighing up to 900 kg (2,000 lbs) and standing around 1.5 meters (5 feet) tall at the shoulder. African buffaloes possess distinctive curved horns that form a characteristic "boss" on their forehead. They are highly social animals, forming herds that can range in size from a few individuals to several hundred. African buffaloes are known for their unpredictable behavior and fierce defense of their herd, making them one of Africa's most dangerous animals. They are an integral part of the African savanna ecosystem, playing a crucial role in shaping the landscape and providing resources for other wildlife.
