Across the street was a favorite hangout of MRA's, or men's rights activists. They "weren't hurting anyone," or at least, that hadn't been proven in court.
Sadly there were always new disciples joining up for misguided reasons. Places to "be free of" ... well, what?
Then one year with local elections there was a change. There was a large slate of female candidates. The most effective place to advertise was the building across the street, the highest for a good two miles around. The south wall had no windows--there were a couple storag levels. Up the poster went.
The MRA's groused, but what could they do? Some especially shallow initiates even preferred the classy women to the fat-cat male candidates. What was the world coming to?
The elections were a sweep. By then the new officials did not want to waste taxpayer money taking the posters down. It was important to know who your local elected officials were, anyway. Too few people did.
This image shows several political posters featuring women in purple suits. The posters are designed to be eye-catching and attention-grabbing, using bold colors and strong imagery.
