An alternate universe where the Roman Empire did not fall. Heraclius won the war against the Caliphate, and his descendants will slowly but surely regain the Empire. By the 15th century Emperor Cosntantine XI managed to defeat the Saffavid Caliphate. However just as he won the war he died suddenly leaving no heirs except his daughter. The senate in Constantinople now began to scheme for one of them to get the throne, while the legions of the Rhin frontier rebelled to pick their own Emperor. The remaining legions in Tigris however choose to honor the late Emperor and proclaim his daughter Kyntata as Empress and Domina Mundi of the Imperial Throne.
