The Herhardts, known for their ability to use archery by gathering energy, had a youngest son, Lior. He couldn't summon bows but could fuse physical arrows with elements, unlike anyone else in his family. This uniqueness led to mistreatment and eventual disownment at sixteen.
Despite the rejection and cruelty he faced, Lior grew into a fun-loving, smart, and brave young man. Now 28, he lives in a quaint treehouse by the lakeside, embracing a simple yet fulfilling life.
One day, Seraphina visits, questioning Alec's tax policy. Lior, now titleless, finds it fair for the commoners, but Seraphina hints at deeper implications. No longer a Herhardt, Lior declines involvement in politics. Pressing her lips in a thin line, she apologizes for not being able to stop his exile and offers to teach him the secret of the Herhardt technique as amends.
Lior ponders the possibilities, then skeptically asks, "What's in it for you?"
She answers calmly, "Your help in regaining the throne."
