Add to this the relentless waging of wars over absurd reasons, and the future looks darker than many grim periods in history — periods from which we rarely draw any meaningful lessons.

Instead, we arrogantly keep running into the same walls, inventing new ways to worsen the lives of our fellow humans along the way. We are a truly foolish species, simultaneously destroying the survival chances of all other life forms at a staggering pace.

It is also peculiar how many power-hungry individuals believe themselves to be smarter than others and above both historical truths and current realities, placing themselves beyond the law, much like ancient kings.
