Gu Kaizhi (c. 344–406) was a Chinese painter, poet, and theorist of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, often regarded as the father of Chinese classical painting. Known for his delicate brushwork and expressive figures, he pioneered narrative painting and the use of fine, flowing lines to convey emotion and character. His most famous works, such as Admonitions of the Instructress to the Court Ladies, exemplify his skill in storytelling and attention to detail.
