When Medus overheard that Theseus had led the 'cattle thief' to a private pasture, Medus had an uneasy feeling, and thus, he tracked them down, bringing two bodyguards. When he sighted his lover and the other man wrestling far across the field, he knew this would turn into more than just a friendly competition. Alas, his fear was realized when Theseus and Pirithous proceeded to more intimate contact...
With the voice of his mother in his head, Medus called for his bodyguards to attack the blond man. Though Medus had no intention to kill Theseus, this betrayal was just as damaging.
Theseus confronts Medus, who sobs pleading for forgiveness. Theseus, heartbroken but too enraged, banishes his youthful lover and his mother Medea.
(Canonically, Medea was banished long ago with her infant son Medus when Theseus was recognized as Aegeus's heir. Hopefully, you enjoyed my creative liberty and the story arch of Theseus and aged-up Medus)
