A Woman in The River with A Wolf

This is to explore Amanda Clark ~ inspired by @WenZen

She is a fantasy illustrator with many of her work featuring (animals). Her influence tends to give darker tones.

Iris knelt by the frigid river, her kimono billowing like a forgotten sail. Dunking her husband's laundry, she grumbled, "Rice cakes for breakfast again? This mud won't budge!"

Suddenly, a flash of white caught her eye. A wolf, fur as pristine as mountain snow, emerged from the bushes. Iris froze, her heart hammering a frantic rhythm.

The wolf tilted its head, then dipped a paw… into the laundry basket!

Iris's jaw dropped. "Hey!" she sputtered, indignation warring with amusement. "That's cheating!"

The wolf winked, a mischievous glint in its eyes, before vanishing back into the woods. Iris scrubbed the offending stain with renewed vigor. Maybe today wouldn't be so bad after all.
