Our Lady of Lourdes (1858) Remembrance Day: 11 February A fourteen-year-old girl, Saint Bernadette Soubirous (1844-79), who would later become a nun with the order name Marie-Bernarde, insisted that between 11 February and 16 July 1858 she had experienced a total of eighteen apparitions of "a woman" in a grotto in the rock of Massabielle on the south side of the river Gave de Pau on the outskirts of her hometown of Lourdes.
