_Lily_ bursting through a clearing with all her might. She stumbled upon a sight that sent shivers down her spine: a ramshackle cabin, moonlight glinting off its dusty windows.

Hope flickered, but as she approached, the silence was broken by a disturbing sound, the high-pitched squeaking of bats. Dozens of them erupted from the behind it, swirling around her in a dark cloud.

Lily screamed, her voice swallowed by the night. Clawing at the air, she stumbled back, tripping over a gnarled root and collapsing onto the damp earth. The bats swooped closer, their leathery wings brushing against her face.

Tears streamed down her face as she squeezed her eyes shut, bracing for the worst. She knew she shouldn't stay still, but what else could a little girl like her do in this situation within the dark  unforgiving forest.
