Here I was thinking I wasn't old enough to have menopause only to find out there is this whole other stage we go through first... like why did no one tell me about perimenopause and how much it can suck? 

Women’s health has long been overlooked and shrouded in secrecy due to stigma, societal taboos, and medical bias. Issues like menstruation, menopause, reproductive health, and chronic pain conditions are often dismissed, under-researched, or treated as secondary concerns. Many women suffer in silence, fearing judgment or being labeled as “hysterical” or “overreacting.” This lack of open discussion leads to misdiagnosis, inadequate care, and a cycle of shame that prevents access to proper treatment. Breaking the stigma requires education, advocacy, and systemic change to prioritize women’s health as essential, not an afterthought.
