Gorgeous, congratulations!

My title for this would be: “The Last Light Doesn’t Lock the Gate.”

Every evening, the sun gave the meadow a golden goodbye, slipping its final beams through the reeds like secret notes. Old Farmer Bellamy insisted the colors were more vivid when nobody watched, as if the sun saved its best for the frogs, foxes, and fenceposts. The pond, a mirror to the whole celestial show, quietly stored sunsets the way attics keep old love letters—damp but glowing. And though the sky always seemed to close the day with grandeur, the wooden gate at the far edge never latched. The light might leave, but the meadow never really closed.
