The fire of hate in me

Deep inside of me, a fire burns A seething rage, that never learns It hides behind a smile and grin A mask that covers all my sin

My hatred's just as strong as love A monster that I can't get rid of It claws and gnaws, at my soul And tries to take complete control

I struggle every single day To keep this beast at bay To show the world my sunny side And never let them see inside

But when the night comes creeping in And I'm alone with all my sin The fire grows and rages on Until the morning light is dawn

I wish that I could break it free And let my kind side take the lead But until then, I'll wear this mask And hope that nobody ever asks

The fire of hate in me will stay A constant battle, come what may But in my heart, I still hold hope That one day, I'll learn to cope
