ℹ️ Alfred Kelsner (1949-), born in Germany, found early inspiration in the works of Hal Foster and Hansrudi Wäscher. Later, he admired artists like Johnny Bruck, Caspar David Friedrich, Ludwig Richter, and Salvador Dali. Fascinated by realistic painting, surrealism, and expressionism, Kelsner pursued his passion for art alongside his career as a commercial painter. He was self-taught in painting. Collaborating with writer William Voltz, Kelsner contributed to the creation of the book "Zeitsplitter" in 1981, where stories were written to complement his artworks. From 1981 onwards, he became a regular illustrator for the Perry Rhodan and Atlan series, marking a significant contribution to science fiction art.
This artwork evokes a sense of wonder and introspection. The style is reminiscent of classic illustrators and painters, blending detailed realism with surrealist elements.
