Yes, it is a nice idea to link the artistic style with the theme.  I think that many on NightCafe want to be shocked by things which are totally unexpected.  For example, as a joke, I created a work which had a mermaid in outer space fighting dinosaurs, and that one did so much better than the ones that I had spent time devising.
