I was her treasurer, and it was my duty to advise her on the state of the kingdom's finances. She glanced at me sideways, bored and uninterested. I stopped talking, feeling a surge of frustration. She was a beautiful woman, no doubt, and her curves had ensnared many a man who underestimated her intelligence and cunning. Her red and gold dress accentuated her feminine charms, but she did not wear it for me. I was immune to her allure, unlike the many suitors and diplomats she had to deal with today. She hated those meetings, but they were necessary for her rule.

As I laid out the financial report in front of her, I said, "Your highness, we are facing a serious deficit." She barely looked at the numbers, her attention drawn to the cigar in her hand. She struck a match and lit it, ignoring my disapproving frown. She inhaled deeply and exhaled a cloud of smoke that enveloped her. She was a fiery woman, with brown hair and olive skin that hinted at her passionate nature. She had a temper that matched her tiara, which sparkled with more wealth than I would ever see in my life. "Our debts are mounting and our revenues are dwindling," I continued, hoping to impress upon her the gravity of the situation.
