Misty Morning

She stood on a rock at the edge of the water looking out into the mist lifting off the lake. She was up early before anyone else and wanted to enjoy some time alone by the lake. As she got closer to the edge she had the urge to go wading in. But she knew the lake got deep quickly so wading would quickly turn into swimming. She looked down at her clothes and then out at the lake again. This wasn't what she would have picked to wear if she had considered wading in when she was getting ready. But now she couldn't get the thought out of her mind. She stepped off the rocks and into the shallow water at the edge. The water was ankle deep and it would only take a few more steps for it to be above her knees. Finally she took a few more steps as she anticipated it got deeper fast and soon she could no longer touch the bottom and swam a bit away from shore. The water was cooler than expected yet she wasn't cold and the feeling of being in the water in all her clothes was delightful!
