The Trove of Queztctakitca the Harvester: the bloodiest of the Mayan Dark Priests (STORY ALERT- SEE DESCRIPTION FOR STORY)

In his time, Queztctakitca was called The Harvester for the vast number of human sacrifices he performed in service of the Dark and Unknown gods. Meanwhile he accepted many offerings of gold and priceless treasures from those who could afford to keep their families from consideration as sacrificial candidates. The Dark Priest had amassed enough treasure to fill three corrupted temples. But his blood pacts with the Dark and Unknown gods did little good. For in the end their bloodlust left few untouched by the pain of loved ones lost. Including his own servants. He died by innumerable cuts in his sleep as his servants one by one incapacitated him, bled him, and eventually removed his heart. Unable to save their priest, the Dark and Unknown gods pulled his Corrupted Temples beneath the jungle floor in an attempt to exact vengeance on his murderous servants. They all perished, except one, a boy who fled into the wilderness, the chest containing the priest's black heart.
