I still haven't made up my mind whether *any* mass revolution in history is genuine or guided by powerful interests, you know, like how the US organized and financed the Maidan Revolution in Ukraine.

That's always a problem. I think it is essential that the revolution takes place at the _social_ plane (proletarians immediately communising the means of production) instead of the political (between competing representations), but that is still no guarantee. On the other hand, in an actual revolutionary situation it becomes very dangerous to work for or cooperate with the political police.
