Boltning XL v1 Lightning
That's supposed to be actress Geena Davis. I was vaguely inspired by memories of her pirate movie Cutthroat Island. I thought it had some lovely visuals, but the main characters failed to make me sympathize with them. For instance: the plot involved a race between Geena Davis, as a cold-blooded pirate captain, and her uncle Dawg Brown (Frank Langella as another cold-blooded pirate captain), to find a hidden treasure. As near as I could tell, I was supposed to be rooting for Geena's character to win this competition just because she was younger and prettier than her uncle, but not because she was a better person, since she too regarded robbing people at gunpoint as being a perfectly good way to make a living.
Still and all, when I decided to try a steampunk pirate creation, I remembered that movie and chose to mention Geena Davis in my prompt.
