"Murder! Murder! Chief inspector, his lordship’s been murdered!" The housekeeper appeared in the hall screaming. Everybody turned their heads in shock and surprise. The chief inspector was the first to come to their senses and raced off to the study.
She chuckled. This was great! How could she have missed this unique piece of entertainment for so long? She needed to thank her friend for letting her borrow her book as soon as she saw her again.
She furrowed her brow. When was it that they would see each other again? Next week? She made a note to herself to look it up in her calendar when she returned home.
Home.
The words echoed in her mind like a song she was sure she knew but did not quite recall.
She closed the book and watched the drones in the night sky pass by silently.
