"You're insufferable, rude, arrogant, inattentive, presumtious and and and--" She trails off into a frustrated growl and balls her hands into fists. The tall, lumbering cowpoke taps the brim of her hat, leans down, and gazes into her eye. He smiles his "big stupid dumb smile" as she calls it in her head. The one that makes his eyes crinkle at the sides, makes his cheeks dimple, and his eyes sparkle. Big, stupid, dumb! she reminds herself inside her head. Then he kisses her on the tip of her nose. Her jaw drops open, heat rises from her collar bone to her forhead and air leaves her body in a disbelieving rush. "Aww." He drawls quietly in is deep easy voice. "I like you too." Then turns back to his horse. "I-i-i-" she sputters at his tiny silhouette as he rides away, too far away now to hear. I'm gonna punch that big dumb stupid smile off his arrogant face! She finishes seething in her head, as her index finger gently touches the tip of her nose where she could still feel his kiss.
