This is an excellent example of what it is to "undulate." 
Some people like the the word, undulation just for the sound of it, they just like saying it. They have been known to repeatedly say  " undulation " at supermarkets, at public pools, and even the dry cleaners. 

Must be the sameness of the shapes that give it that effect. I’m curious, do you like the start image better? I was torn which one to post, the way I get when trying to decide whether to go to the dry cleaners or supermarket just to be able to use the word “undulate.” You see, I prefer “undulate” over “undulation.” Really no contest there, but I can’t decide on anything else!

I think you're on a " deciding vacation " When you get back you can decide then. 
It is difficult to decide which word I like more but " undulate " is the stronger verb. 
I prefer the start image, no contest.  Both are good but the start image  is deep into magic realism. I love it very much.
