Shammar Vi'jum had been sent away to uncover relics for his kingdom of Cristalwatch. He understood why he'd been chosen and why he'd been sent alone. But being out here alone in this desert The Dead Sand Dunes... it brought back memories he'd rather forget. Truthfully, though, he wasn't alone, not for quite some time now. He lowered his hand to the desert sands appearing outwardly as if he'd tripped and fallen. He sensed everything about his stalker, an elf, a woodland elf to be exact, her intent to kill unwavering but not out of hatred, out of necessity. He felt immense pain and exhaustion from his stalker. He slowly stood back up, walking slower than before. He would let his assailant have their apparent opportunity to strike. His back did, in fact, hurt. As he stood back up, the deep scars that marred his back's surface caused an emotional and physical reminder of his past, so walking slowly wasnโt all false weakness.
A striking picture of a dark-skinned man in a blue coat traversing a desert. An elf in a brown cloak follows him. The image is rendered as fantasy concept art with deep blues, earthy tones, and green.

The mysterious elf watched her target, noting that he was dressed in a bright blue dress suit, which seemingly flowed over his dark skin like water walking across the desert sands. He was an easy target to spot amongst the dunes. Her own cloak meanwhile made it easy for her to blend in. She could have taken him down with a shot from her bow over a day ago. She admired his untiring pace no matter the weather or time of day and night he just kept walking, and it mystified her. She felt a sharp pang race up her arm from her finger. She looked down at the accursed ring that brought such pain. She looked up again to see him stumble to the rough sands. Between her distrust of the elf who had hired her and curiosity over the target, her more merciful side showed. As he stood back up, she noticed the strain it put on his back, deepening her curiosity, but as another excruciating pang of pain raced up from her finger, she knew she had to strike now.
