Oceans of Calatian

Calatian’s seas are deep, often unnaturally so. In many places, the seabed drops away into trenches formed when divine forces tore at the planet’s crust. Some of these depths glow faintly at night, lit by bioluminescent ecosystems or residual planar energy. Sunken ruins are common. Entire cities, temples, and fortresses lie drowned beneath the waves, preserved by magic or crushed into reefs. Many cultures believe the oceans remember these losses, and that storms rise more fiercely above places where gods or titans fell into the sea. Leviathan-class creatures roam the deeper waters—some natural, others warped by ancient magic. Their migration paths are treated with the same respect as mountain passes or desert routes, and wise captains plan voyages around them.
