A Bysen from Swedish folklore

The Bysen is a gnarled forest spirit from Swedish folklore, often described as a withered old man with mossy skin, twisted features, and piercing eyes. Some say he wears ragged clothing made of bark and lichen, blending perfectly into the woods.

He is known for leading travelers astray, making them wander in circles for hours. If disrespected, he can cause strange misfortunes, but those who acknowledge him with respect may be left unharmed. His presence is often marked by an eerie stillness in the forest, as if the trees themselves are watching.
