Small in comparison to its more destructive counterparts, the scout mech stood among the ruins, its every sensor working in tandem to survey the area. Small drones no bigger than an insect flitted back and forth overhead, compiling a hasty, though accurate, topographical map of the area which was being projected before the mech’s main observation unit. Shudders rippled faintly across its metallic structure as deep sonar pings penetrated the earth in search of anything that might be hidden from the drone swarm’s sights.
Grid by grid, the map began to manifest, the occasional red dot of detected lifeforms quickly snuffed out by the accompanying destroyer.
They spoke not with words, but with a chorus of beeps, clicks, and flashing lights.
Resistance… Null.
