This was very heavy baggage for such a little girl.

The contents of two carpet bags were all she had left.  Some clothes, a toy, photos from her grandma, a very old book wrapped in a flag.

No mother, no father, no sister or brother.

No one cared why she was here.  Not the desk clerks nor the men at the bar. Not the bellboy who ran to the tipping customer.  Not a passing thought for the little one with no name.  All were immersed in their own problems and stories.

She was on the grand staircase, alone.  Then climb she would.  Jupiter was ascending and lit her way.  She paused and conjured up Europa and Callisto.  She would call forth Io and Ganymede before she reached the top. 

By morning they will have figured out who she really is and regret not helping or giving her comfort. For this will be the night to remember. The night for stories beyond belief...
