That's not at all confusing.  But I think I know what you meant.  Did you ever hear a sackbut ensemble.  They're hilarious cause they refuse to stay in tune, no matter the skill of the musician.

My profound apologies to the Sackbut Community.  The guys I heard on Crumhorns that made me LOL were NOT, in fact, playing sackbuts. But 50 years will distort memories....
