The neon lights of Miami Beach blurred into a kaleidoscope of color as the night pulsed with music, laughter, and the sweet scent of excess. The world was at war, but you wouldn’t know it here. Even as World War Three tore apart cities half a world away, the beachfront clubs were packed with people who didn’t care—young, wild, and reckless.
Jake Harper was one of them.
He leaned back in his lounge chair, his skin golden from the relentless sun, his hand curled around a glass of whiskey as he surveyed the scene before him. The war was real enough—he’d fought on the frontlines, seen the chaos in China firsthand. But war was a distant thing here, in the safe, buzzing heart of America’s playground.
Jake grinned as a group of women walked by, their laughter blending with the music blasting from the nearby club. He tipped his sunglasses down and gave them a wink, knowing they would come over. They always did.
This image shows a vibrant Miami Beach street scene at night filled with neon lights and glowing palm trees. The art deco architecture is intricately detailed, reflected in the water with deep blues and purples in a futuristic style.

War be cursed. He was on leave, and he intended to enjoy every last minute of it.
“Harper, man!” a familiar voice called from behind him. Jake turned to see his old army buddy, Tommy, weaving through the crowd, a bottle in hand, already half-drunk. “You still alive over here, or did the sun kill ya?”
Jake laughed, raising his glass. “More alive than I’ve ever been, brother.”
The two clinked their drinks together and settled back into their chairs, watching as the beach around them turned into one massive, glittering party. The war felt like a distant dream. A bad one, sure, but a dream you could wake up from as long as you had a drink in your hand and women at your side.
Tommy took a long swig from his bottle and grinned. “So, what’s the plan for tonight? We hittin’ the clubs again?”
