Ashildr raised her eyebrow, eyed the stranger suspiciously and remained silent. She knew better than to interrupt some inflated ego's grave monologue. Sooner or later they would reveal everything you needed to know if just let them talk.
From the looks of him he probably was of alien descent. He had the distinctive air of a castaway on Earth who missed his technologically advanced and way more civilized home planet, yet somehow had to try and fit in throughout his long life. She had always felt sorry for those types while still in Trap Street, because they could never seem to assimilate or at least accomodate themselves with the situation. If there were troublemakers, it was never the last-of-their-kind types, never the we're-just-scouting-and-waiting-for-orders-that-probably-never-arrive types. It was always the sorry buggers that thought themselves more civilized and above the rest.

A graphic novel style portrait of Ashildr in a cyberpunk setting. The illustration shows a gritty, moody scene with black and blue watercolour textures, luminous pastels, and noir shadows, set against a futuristic cityscape.
