Apex predator of the desolate moon Eridan-Epsilon 6B

PROLOGUE

Under the age of human interstellar expansion, it was our legion's mission to settle the star system of Eridan Epsilon. The most promising targets were the inner moons of the sixth planet, EE6, and as a newly promoted Imperial Consul, I was placed in charge of the detachment tasked with settling the second moon, EE6B, which was about half the mass of Earth but more dense.

A desolate, smouldering place, EE6B had clearly been fought over bitterly by the monstrous lifeforms that lived there, and as a result those species were tough, ruthless and always ravenous. None more so than the apex predator, photographed here just before an epic battle in which I lost 300 men and eight pulse tanks before we blasted it into oblivion.

This battle was to change me in ways that will become clear in this memoir.
