Many believe that Napoleon failed at invading Russia in 1812 because "russians burnt moscow and hid, and winters came, and all the Great Army froze to death." That's absurd, and even the participants of war from bth sides disproved it. If all the reasons could simply be put on bad weather, this would've been too easy, and Napoleon could easily overcome. No, no, no.... mistakes of French commanderrship, guerilla war by russians, Napoleon being mistakenly sure that emperor Alexander would start negotiations, Russian commandership leaving no place for tactical general battle., etc But I have a little fact though! "Army of twenty nations" endured not only horrible supply and winter frost, but also... unimaginable summer heat. Yes, right in June, after the beginning of Campaign, French army has faced temperatures of 30+ degrees by Celsius for weeks, with no rain...
This image shows Napoleon's French army regiment marching through a forest in Russia. Soldiers appear exhausted by heat, with sunburnt faces and missing hats, under a bright, sunny sky.

People often forget that it does, indeed, get hot in Russia.
