Denise Holly Hobbie (née Ulinskas; 1944 – ) is an artist from the USA, known for her distinctive watercolour illustrations. She is best known for creating the character “Holly Hobbie” for American Greetings, which was initially unnamed but later adopted her name. Holly Hobbie is a young girl in a large bonnet, which is inspired by her own children and reflects a rustic style reminiscent of a bygone era. This style became popular and is now associated with her name. In addition to her greeting card character, Hobbie also created the “Toot & Puddle” series of children’s books. Her art technique primarily involves the use of watercolours.
