NC asks "what do you like about this creation?" to which I must disagree. The concept of a "Like" (capital L as in Facebook Likes) feels wrong when the post's subject is not really likeable per se. If someone posts that their cat died, wouldn't it feel wrong to Like that message? As such, this is a work that deserves praise, admiration and comments that discuss the image both in terms of its subject matter and its execution. That said, this is wonderfully dark and intense as the fevered individual in the bed both may not be long for this world and/or may have already infected the others nearby. The dark smudges (or Smudge) that makes the room looks like it's been on fire seem so evocative, raising the level of darkness from theoretical to actual. I don't like this piece; I am enthralled by it.
