I am going through a hard time. 
Well meaning people are giving me all kinds of advice to resolve my difficulties but they are not me and can't ever fully understand my journey, just as I can never fully understand theirs. 
However, I know that Christ sees me and knows me fully. In this prayer I am trying to capture some of the principles of prayer found in Scripture and in common-sense life: thankfulness, trust, forgiveness, joy etc.
I have been greatly helped by learning the discipline of silence: just sitting quietly with an open spirit and mind to God. I can't tell you how brilliant this has been. I am very thankful, even though I feel the sadness and discomfort of my trials - which are not nearly as hard as those had by many other people. Thank you Father, Son & Holy Spirit; thank you for the angels who have accompanied me, thank for the many people who have been sensitive, kind and generous towards me - even if they have occasionally been unwittingly clumsy 😉
