Scavenger of the Pale Ones

This tribe is known as the Pale Ones. They dwell at the very center of the dead city, emerging from an old subterranean shelter. More organized than most, their ways are rigid but fragile — a flickering echo of a lost civilization.

A middle-aged woman of the Pale Ones tribe searches the flooded ruins of the dead city — once hospitals, now carcasses of glass and rust. Too old to bear children and too worn to hunt, she is part of a fragile caste of scavengers, tasked with retrieving what remains of old-world medicine. Her soaked robe clings to her body, mud streaks her skin, and her expression speaks of exhaustion and quiet endurance. In one hand she clutches a makeshift satchel — the only hope for those still depending on the scraps she might find.
