You'll never guess! Also, glad Gas Mask himself decided to appear. In the original story, I'd planned for the chief protagonist to be revealed as the villain from the start, but really, it felt borrowed and done to death. It was a tabletop roleplaying club I was part of in my teens. Looking back, I guess I was trying to comment on the group/friendships, and how it/they ended. I'm still processing that, on some level. I actually started plonking it together in snippets while I was finishing highschool c.1990.
