The fire was spreading to other houses now. The heat became unbearable. “Where is your father?”, Pipper asked the girl. “I don't know”, she answered. “I saw him last this morning”. “Nothing we can do about it now”, Pipper said, “we must get out of here quickly, before the fire blocks our exit”. Together they made a run for safety.
