Pray then like this: βOur Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13)
During Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, He taught how to pray. While reciting the Lord's prayer is fine, Jesus was showing the pattern for prayer. He cautioned against using "vain repetitions" (Matthew 6:6-7): Remember, God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). This week, share a creation inspired by the Lord's Prayer. The apostle Paul wrote:
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
