Free Indeed

They answered him, “We are offspring of Abraham and have never been enslaved to anyone. How is it that you say, ‘You will become free’?” Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." (John 8:34-36)

When I hear something great is "free", I immediately think 'Too good to be true". However, freedom in Jesus is wonderful, and biblically true. Free from sin, free from death, and best of all, free to be with Him forever.

This week, what has Christ freed you from, or perhaps you have a favorite example from the Bible? Paul wrote:

But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:22-23)
