i did another study of how the various models handle the same prompt, this time for lego, and thought i'd share the results to help other lego fans zero in on the more useful models. all non-pro and a couple of pro-models were tested with the same prompt

with the exception of the very first entry (where i spaced the catwalk, so the alien is just kind of floating there 😆)

(unfortunately i think artistically it was also the best result, so there it is... 😆)

the prompt was long, i asked for lego, an astronaut minifig, a space alien, a battle on a space station. i described the scene and an artistic style.

"A John Zeleznik style acrylic painting of a Lego minifigure astronaut with a lego laser blaster in hand taking refuge behind a corner in his lego space station as he fires at a scary lego space alien prowling through the ship along a raised catwalk in a menacing fashion. there is sign of blaster damage on the walls near the alien, it's slightly injured and the blood it drips is highly acidic, causing damage to the surfaces below it. Intricate detail, muted colours, smudged background paint."

half couldn't do a minifig (or lego) with a longer prompt, full stop. that's not to say the results are bad per se, just not prompt compliant, so... and it's not like i wasn't clear about wanting lego. 😉

of the remainder, they generally couldn't do an artistic style on top of the minifig with a longer prompt (a couple vacillated, see the hidream fast examples), and it was frankly surprising how few could even incorporate the alien, to say nothing of a space battle or the scene described.

as a tip, shortening prompts tends to help get some of the models to give you more artistic results, but the moment you incorporate "lego" or "minifigure", too many models resort to photorealism. and of course you have less control over the scene, but as you can see, that's true for longer prompts with a lot of the models as well.

anyway, i hope that helps some of you save some credits while selecting models for own works. i'd love to see the results if you'd care to share them. 😊
