Daily Challenge #937: Bridges
I'm pretty selective on what Daily Challenges i enter. I need to be able to visualize a unique angle on the theme. Often times, I'm not able to see one clearly, so I'll pass on it.
The Bridges DC was one I was able to see right away. I knew immediately that most people would to for clear views of a bridge, to show it mostly in its entirety. I thought, why do that, when i can mask is in mist and cloud to add more mystery, intrigue and even give it a bit of an ominous presence.
I then started working on this angle, and the Bridges were looking good, but something still didn't feel right. I was getting some really good ghostly looking Bridges, but everything felt so empty...isolated. i did what i often do to give an image character and depth, i added a raven. This instantly made it feel more right, but in the adding of the raven on the bridge, it changed the angle the bridge was being viewed. They were now being rendered as though looking across the bridge itself.
How to get the Raven in the shot, and still see the ghostly bridge in all of its majesty? Perfect solution! Put the Raven on the how of a boat in the water approaching this fearsome ghostly structure!
Thus my Bridges DC creation was born, and earned a top 5% badge!
Here's that creation and some of the others that led to it. These are 16:9 ratio, so you'll need to click on them to get the full view. Enjoy!
