Between the wrath and the mercy, lies the blood.

The figures, while indistinct, appear to personify wrath and mercy.

Wrath is sinister. Mercy is dexter.

But look at the structure under which they stand: does it embody a dualism or a duality? Can mercy be a greater punishment than wrath?

About this project:

We wanted to see what an artist might have produced given only a quote and a few contextual hints. In most cases we generated a single image to see how well the machine's dreams captured some meaningful aspect of the text.
