Maya knows that one day Ru will be much bigger than her and that she will probably need to let him go be with his kind. But that time is far away so she pushed that thought from her mind & decided to focus on where they will go today - the high cliffs in Undwil or into the dark caves nestled between the volcano and the poisonous pond. 

"The dark cliffs," Ru says with a grin, "so we can find those gems."

Smiling, Maya rummaged through her bag and pulled out a well-worn book the two knew from start to finish. Thumbing through the pages, she stopped and began to read.

"As the wind swept over the cliffs, I thought I'd fall off the side. Fortunately, Ru was there & grabbed hold with his long tail.

They continued the story until they'd found the gems, pocketed them away, and returned home wealthy as Kings. They giggled then happy to be in each other's company, neither worrying about what may come so many years from now. Be in the moment for as long as it lasts.
