Zhu Bajie originally held the title of Tiānpéng Yuánshuài (天篷元帅; 'Marshal Tianpeng'), commander-in-chief of 80,000 Celestial sailors. However, he was later banished for misbehavior. At a party organized for all the significant figures in Heaven, Bajie saw the Chang'e (goddess of the Moon) for the first time and was captivated by her beauty. Following a drunken attempt to seduce her, she reported this to the Jade Emperor and thus he was banished to Earth.

"(Masked area: face of the moon goddess). Zhu Bajie (猪八戒), also known as "Pigsy" in some English translations, is one of the main characters in Journey to the West (西游记), a 16th-century Chinese novel by Wu Cheng'en. He is a half-man, half-pig creature who was once a high-ranking heavenly general before being banished to the mortal world due to his flaws. At the end of the journey, Zhu Bajie is granted the title of "Cleanser of the Altar" (净坛使者), a position in the Buddhist heavens that allows him to still enjoy food—a fitting reward for someone whose desires never quite disappeared. abstract vector fractal, wave function, Zentangle, 3d shading"
