ℹ️ K.W. Jeter is an American science fiction and fantasy writer who is often credited with coining the term "steampunk" to describe a particular type of science fiction that he was writing in the 1980s.

Jeter's novel "Morlock Night" (1979), a sequel to H.G. Wells' "The Time Machine," is considered by many to be one of the earliest examples of the steampunk genre. The novel features a mix of Victorian-era technology, magic, and time travel, and is set in an alternate version of Victorian London.

Jeter continued to write steampunk fiction throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including "Infernal Devices" (1987), "Fiendish Schemes" (2013), and "Grim Expectations" (2015). He has also written numerous other science fiction and fantasy novels, including the "Blade Runner" sequel, "Blade Runner 2: The Edge of Human" (1995).
