The Sundering

It would not be uncommon to mistake the Sundering as an event that only took place in the ancient human city of Enaldor. In truth, the disaster rippled through the entirety of the continent of Ael, with only a few isolated settlements left untouched.

Noone knows how the Sundering came about; whether it be through a dark ritual or a greater cosmic event, the material plane appeared to directly collide with the demonic planes of the Abyss, tearing open a multitude of rifts between the two planes from which a seemingly endless horde of monstrosities entered the homeland of humanity.

Were it not for the few capable leaders who survived the initial onslaught, humanity could have reached total extinction within those first few weeks. Yet despite the odds, the last surviving member of the Royal Court, a mage by the name of Alexander Corbyn, arranged a great migration for the remnants of humanity as they set sail for the lands of Amaldra to the East in a mass exodus for a new home.
