“Fairbairn, dial it up,” Larkin said as they approached the DHD.”

“Aye, sir,” Fairbairn replied as she dialed Eirth. She inputted the symbols for earth and pushed the big red button on the center of the DHD. The Stargate let out a two tone chirp and then kawooshed. Fairbairn joined her the teammates next to the camera on the MALP. Larkin input the code on his GDO. 

“Stargate Command, this is SG-24 do you read? Stargate Command this is SG-24, come in please.”

“This is Stargate Command. We read you,” came the reply in a familiar Australian accent.

“Cate!” Larkin exclaimed. “Did Sam finally promote you to Air Vice Marshall?”

“Marcus, you old scallywag! No, silly! I'm still a Wing Commander. SG-4 is taking a little R&R after our recent mission.” 

“Cate, is Sam there?” 

“Do you know what time it is?” Cate asked. 
“I've got 0930, Kate.” He paused realizing there was a time differential. “What time is it there?”

“Coming up on 0200 now,” Cate replied. 

“So there's a 7 1/2 time hour time difference between Earth and Eversham,” Larkin observed. 

“Eversham? I thought you were on P4X-987?” Cate asked.

“We are, Larkin replied. That's what the locals call it.”

“It looks that way,” Cate said.

“There's also a 13 day difference, Sir,” Sister Helena added. “Eversham uses the Julian calendar.” Larkin nodded.

Cate heard Helena's voice in the background. “Helena! How are you?”

“Doing alright, Cate,” the Carmelite replied.

“Carter briefed me on you finally. I must say, you and I have a lot in common. Girl, when  you get some R&R we'll have to get together for a jam session."


“I know just the place. Midway BBQ at my hometown of Katy. They have open mic night on Tuesdays, at least they still do. We can stay with my Papa,” Helena said.

Cate smiled. “It's a date, Sister.”

Larkin cleared his throat. “We've got a full report to transmit. Several key points for General Carter. We've encountered a potential Goa’uld operation here. At least two, possibly three of them. We've discovered new Goa'uld symbols that no one in my team recognizes.” He transmitted the report on his data pad. 


The team woke up the next morning and after breakfast (and prayer time for Sister Helena), they geared up in their uniforms, grabbed their weapons and left the monastery. Fairbairn had gone ahead to speak to Edward about their situation. He agreed that the team would be better off with a cart and he and Fairbairn prepared the horses and the cart. When all was ready Fairbairn brought the cart around to the outside of the stables. Larkin sat next to Fairbairn in “shotgun” while Helena and Bjornson sat in the bed of the cart. Fairbairn cracked the reins and the team was on their way. The horses went into a trot and a walk as they traversed the rough Eversham terrain. At 0930, SG-24 arrived at the Stargate. Godrick, who was guarding the Gate, saw Larkin and waved them and signaled to his soldiers to hold their fire. Larkin acknowledged Godrick.
