Exodus: a Visual Short Story (Part 4 of 9) - The Shacks

'Twas already night, dark a lot, when our folks decided to stop for sleepin. Seemed just the right place to do that, cuz there were a coupla shacks and a dilapidated hovel.

We went inside, a bunch here, a handful there, and slept over. Cullen tried to enter everywhere, but everywhere folks shunned him. So I think -- I dunno for sure -- he slept outdoors, cuz the next mornin he was still there, three legs, cane and all.

After a while we came to a forkroad. Undecided, we were. But then old folk named Ben said "Should go west. Big City is west of our town. Always been."

So we trudged toward the dawning sun, cuz everybody know the sun dawns west and set east.

We went westward cuz Big City was west.

Logical thing to do, I think.
